Mecosta County Visitors Bureau Presents Car Fest plus Kids Fest 2023!
The Mecosta County Visitors Bureau is excited to be bringing back their very popular Car Show event to Downtown Big Rapids, but this year there will be a new twist.
“We have partnered with the River Valley Car Club in the past on this exciting downtown event and this year we are proud to announce that we are also including Kids Fest,” stated Connie Koepke – Executive Director for the Mecosta County Visitors Bureau (MCVB). “We are expanding the Touch-A-Truck portion to include not only more vehicles, but bigger and more unique vehicles as well.”
Car Fest plus Kids Fest is scheduled for Saturday, June 24, from 11:00am – 3:00pm with registration for the Car Show from 9:00am – 11:00am. The official event kick-off will begin at 11:00am, in front of Pocket Park, Downtown Big Rapids, with the Call to Colors being presented by the Big Rapids AMVETS Post 1941, followed by our National Anthem, sung by Allison LeVeque.
Car Fest plus Kids Fest will also include a 50/50 raffle, (30) trophies, Dash Plaques to the first 50 registered, music, a large Touch-A-Truck section, food and of course Kids Fest with numerous fun activities to be announced soon.
“On behalf of the River Valley Car Club, we are always excited to show off our prized vehicles, mingle with fellow car lovers plus have fun activities for our kids and grandkids to enjoy during the day as well,” stated Bruce Reges, River Valley Car Club President.
Rob and Louise of Big Rapids Big County 100.9 radio will be the event’s official media sponsors, giving live shout-outs as well as up-to-date happenings during the event.
If you have a prized vehicle that you would like to enter for a chance at one of the 30 coveted trophies up for grabs, you can register on the day of the event from 9:00am – 11:00am, in front of Pocket Park, Downtown Big Rapids.
Cost is just $15.00 per vehicle.
“The Mecosta County Visitors Bureau is always looking at new ideas that will entice guests and visitors to spend time in the Big Rapids Region, as well as an overnight stay in one of our amazing area hotels,” explained Koepke. “This is also a perfect tie-in with the Big Rapids Air Fest at Roben- Hood Airport taking place earlier in the day from 9:00am-1:00pm. Guests will be able to spend the entire day Exploring the Big Rapids Region while enjoying both events as well as local shops, restaurants and a relaxing night at one of our hotels.”
