As the national dialogue about race and racism has recently been thrust into the forefront of Americans’ minds, The Jim Crow Museum of Racist Memorabilia continues to be one of the best equipped institutions in the U.S. to address these issues, serving as a tool for preserving the truth of racist histories and how they manifest in our modern era, while fostering healing in our communities grappling with uncomfortable and challenging dialogues. As residents of Mecosta County we are fortunate to have this incredible educational resource here in our community.
In partnership with the Big Rapids Social Equity Initiative, the museum is offering a free virtual tour to local citizens interested in learning about our nation's history of injustice and how to move forward in a positive direction.
Registration is required and spaces are limited so be sure to register soon!
