Description
The Anna Howard Shaw Memorial Park is in honor of the prominent women's suffrage leader and Big Rapids native. Born in 1847 Anna moved to Big Rapids as a child, she would go on to become the first female ordained minister in the Methodist Protestant Church and a medical doctor. The Anna Howard Shaw Park is located beside the Community Library on Michigan Ave and includes a literacy playground and statue of Anna.
